Special Assistance, Wheelchairs and Mobility Equipment on flights

Here’s a fingertip guide to booking wheelchair assistance with airlines for airports and checking a mobility walker into the hold.

Essentially, most airlines allow you to check 2 pieces of mobility equipment free into the hold. To book assistance in a wheelchair, to call at least 48 hours before travel and book this.

When you have booked your flights, here are the contact numbers for each the main airlines

Ryanair: Ryanair’s assistance page provides information on a range of categories.

Easyjet: Easyjet call their page Special Assistance and ask for wheelchair and mobility equipment booking at least 48 hours before travel, via your Manage Bookings section of your website.

Jet2: Flying direct to Menorca from Bristol early in the morning, there is a page here about Assisted Travel with Jet2. They ask to let them know at least 48 hours before travel and this can be done via Manage My Booking

Loganair: to arrange assistance call 0344 800 2855 within open hours with flight reference to arrange wheelchair assistance, book mobile equipment onto flight and confirm medication to carry.

Tui – flying to Menorca direct on Fridays and Mondays from Exeter Airport, Tui provide assistance
