Welcome to Santa Monica
Once parked, items going into the house, luggage and shopping for the kitchen, can be left as soon as you reach the west facing terrace in front of the house. Thank you to Joan Mercadal for the photos of the house.
This page will guide you through the 6 bedrooms, en-suite shower and bathrooms, living areas and kitchen inside the house. The tour starts from the front porch, which retains its large arch and leads to four doors into various parts of the house.
The children’s room with pink curtains and en suite shower room is first on your left as you enter the porch, where you will find 2 beds (sofas now in main sitting area), a large flatscreen TV, bookcase and a large en-suite shower room.
Upstairs is a sitting room with sofas, chairs, reading lamps with paintings on the walls, leading straight ahead through double doors to a bedroom with ensuite shower room. Straight ahead you come to the master bedroom. In the evenings golden sunlight flows through the original oval windows onto the walls in varying hues as the sunsets.
This bedroom has been extensively renovated with large arched doors leading to the upper sitting area, with three windows looking out over the pool area and with its own en suite shower room with twin basins.
To your left with west facing views and overlooking the sunset through double french windows is another bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a large en suite bathroom with one of Santa Monica’s two baths as well as a shower.
On the ground floor is a double bedroom leading off from the front porch to the right, with an en-suite shower room. This room has been updated and has two large wardrobes and windows looking towards the garage/gamesroom and swimming pool area.
Inside the ground floor of the house is a large living room area with sofas looking out through French double doors to the west facing terrace surrounding the fireplace area and ideal for family games or drinks.
Straight ahead, on entering the front door, is another living-room space with Santa Monica’s largest wall-mounted flatscreen TV. Netflix and other online film watching accounts can be accessed via the wifi.
Through an arch doorway leading from both sitting rooms is the kitchen, with induction hob and oven, American fridge freezer, glass cabinet, microwave, a bean-to-cup coffee machine by Krups and a large beer dispenser.
The first bedroom leading from the main TV sitting room has a door leading out to the utility/wash room and outside shower and has its own en-suite shower room.
If the weather does get cold or if there is a storm, blankets can be found in a large laundry cupboard in this room. There are two large double wardrobes and a chest of drawers. These two rooms were once one large room that has been renovated into two doubles with their own bathrooms.
Inside the downstairs of the house there is a second bedroom (right) with a large bathroom containing a shower and door to the outside shower. As well as a mirror, there is a double wardrobe, chest of drawers, wall mounted flatscreen TV, ceiling fan and air conditioning.
Not to forget the smallest room in the house; there is a such a guest room next to the main TV sitting area.
